How it works
From your story to a finished board.
Every GeckoGrain board is custom-made for one person. Here is the full process, from first idea to the moment the piece arrives at your door.
Design your board
Open the Design page, pick a size, pick a wood combination, and describe the inlay you want — a name, a memory, an animal, a symbol. The AI generates a few reference designs you can save and reuse. These previews are only a starting point; the real artwork is iterated with you after you place the order.
Pay 50% deposit
When you are ready, you confirm with a 50% deposit via secure Stripe checkout. The deposit covers the size and the wood. Inlay work is included in the base price — unless the design turns out to be exceptionally complex, in which case a small surcharge may be added at the final step (we always discuss it first).
Design conversation & approval
After the deposit, we talk by email or chat. I send refined sketches and we iterate until the design is exactly what you want. Nothing is cut until you approve the final artwork.
CNC-built in the workshop
I cut, shape, and CNC-inlay the board in the workshop. I send progress photos along the way so you can follow the build from your order page.
Final payment
Once the board is finished, I set the remaining amount on your order. You will see a 'Pay remaining' button on your order page and can complete payment through Stripe in one click.
Shipping
After final payment clears, the board is carefully packed and shipped to you. You get a tracking number and updates until it arrives.
A video of your build
For every custom board, I put together a short YouTube video showing the process — yours to keep and share.
